Manage licenses ¶
The conditions under which data is accessed and used are as essential as they are tricky. To see for yourself, we refer you to the dedicated chapter of the national recommendations.
To bring this valuable information to the attention of your users, and make documentation work much easier, Isogeo lets you manage a license repository in which you can, for example, add your data exchange agreements.
No need to revise each and every file. Time saved, quality metadata!
Tip
Direct access to licenses.
The different licenses¶
By default, Isogeo offers a number of reference licenses. These are easily identified by the padlock icon next to the title in the list.
Use the tabs to filter :
My licenses
my licenses: only the licenses of your workgroup ;Other
licenses available by default from Isogeo ;All
: all licenses.

.
All added licenses are available in the UGC
> Conditions
tab when editing a metadata record.
Advanced use¶
Bearing in mind that license texts are rarely read, a good practice is to use pictograms summarizing the main conditions.
For example, to indicate a free license, implying the citation of the source but preventing commercial reuse or modification, we can use the markdown syntax :
