Managing coordinate systems ¶
Geographic data generally has a coordinate system that must be indicated in its metadata sheet. The Isogeo scan automatically identifies this system, but in the case of manual records or certain formats that are poorly recognized, it is up to the editor to fill in or correct the coordinate system.
To achieve this, Isogeo takes into account the thousands of coordinate systems registered in the international reference system EPSG Registry
(see here to consult the registry via a more modern interface).
To facilitate management and avoid confusion for editors (not necessarily specialists or familiar with projection requirements), the administrator can restrict the coordinate systems visible in the Geography
tab of a metadata record.
Tip
Direct access to coordinate systems.
Select and rename a coordinate system¶
To configure the list of coordinate systems :
- Go to
Administration
>Coordinate systems
; - Search the list on the left for coordinate systems to add to the list on the right (e.g. RGF 93);
- Click on the
+
button to add the selected coordinate system to the organization list; - By clicking on the pencil icon, you can assign an alias to each projection system. Useful for non-specialist users.
To remove a coordinate system, simply click on the trashcan icon next to each projection (the alias is lost).
