Identification" tab¶
This tab provides basic information about a resource. It's essential, since it's the most important information for a user.
Title¶
Definition | The title of the resource must distinguish the data from others that may be similar. |
---|---|
Indications | The title must be unique and systematically indicate: the geographical phenomenon represented, the territory covered and the year of the data if it is versioned or vintage. Structure type: Title [(Ensemble)] of the Territory concerned + geographical area [- date]. |
Example | Communes in mainland France - 2014 |
INSPIRE requirement | Mandatory |
Batch editing | Yes, by crushing |
Scan | No |
Search engine | Yes (+ sorting) |
Resource sheet | Yes |
Service sheet | Yes |
Tip
A metadata newly produced by Scan FME has its title set to the data name. See below.
Data name¶
Definition | Name of the file without its extension or schema.table for a DBMS. |
---|---|
Indications | This field is only filled in by Scan FME and cannot be modified manually, to avoid breaking the tracking of modifications to the source dataset by Scan. |
Example | - File: ROUTES_TRAFICS_ROUTIERS - DBMS table (or view): public.routes_trafic_routier |
INSPIRE requirement | Optional |
Batch editing | No |
Scan | No |
Search engine | Yes |
Resource sheet | No |
Service sheet | No |
Summary¶
Definition | Narrative description of what the data represents. |
---|---|
Indications | The description is divided into two parts: - one generic, common to the batch to which the data belongs; - the other specific to the dataset in question. |
Example | GEOFLA® is a digital product describing the administrative division of metropolitan France, the French overseas departments and the departmental community of Mayotte. It is derived from the Cartographic Database (BD CARTO®) for its geometric part, and from the Administrative Database for its descriptive part. This particular dataset contains the communes, which, in addition to describing the communes, also describe the higher-level administrative units: canton, arrondissement, département and région. In France, a commune is the smallest administrative unit. It is described by the faces of the communal graph. These are polygon communes. |
INSPIRE requirement | Mandatory |
Batch editing | Yes, by crushing |
Scan | No |
Search engine | Yes |
Resource sheet | Yes |
Service sheet | Yes |
Location of documented data¶
Definition | The data storage location, whether it's a file, a database or a service. |
---|---|
Indications | For data and resources, the absolute path from the scan is indicated for files, and the schema for database tables. The field remains empty for manual files. For services, the GetCapabilities URL of the relevant service is indicated. |
Example | \datastore\SIG\DATA\Vecteur\GeoFLA\2014\Communes\Métropole\COMMUNE.SHP |
INSPIRE requirement | No |
Batch editing | Yes, by crushing |
Scan | Yes: - Absolute path for files, - Server name + database / instance name, - SDE file name for Esri cartridges |
Search engine | X |
Resource sheet | Yes |
Service sheet | Yes, the GetCapabilities URL |
INSPIRE validation report¶
For all data covered by the Inspire directive, also indicates whether or not the metadata complies with the standard. The dynamic validator is not active on service and resource records.
