XML file format (ISO 19139)¶
The structure of metadata sheets for geographic data sets is standardized by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) under reference 19139, which is the XML implementation of the 19115 model, itself defined by the ISO /TC 211 committee in charge of geographic issues within the standardization body.
Fully interoperable, the Isogeo platform constantly updates version 19139:2007 metadata records, enabling you to retrieve them at any time for exchange or import into another record, for example.
It is systematically accessible in the Associated Services
section of a file's Resources tab, or under the Download
button when the file is shared in an OpenCatalog.
