Manual plugs

In addition to the data formats for which the automatic scan handles part of the documentation and update tracking, you can also create a manual record at any time. This is also known as an "orphan" record, as it is not linked to the source data.

You can choose from a variety of models:

  • Data (vector) ;
  • Data (raster) ;
  • Data (non-geographic tabular) ;
  • Data set ;
  • Resource ;
  • Service.

To do this, simply click on the + Create button at the top left of the inventory (unless the administrator has disabled it in workgroup settings).

There are then 2 ways to proceed:

  • create a blank card, indicating only its title ;
  • create a card by importing an ISO 19139 standardized XML file.

This feature is useful in a number of situations:

  • if your workgroup does not have the scan ;
  • if you wish to create metadata sheets in formats not supported by Scan (PDF map, Excel statistical file, etc.), for example to create a map library;
  • to document a standardized web service.

Tip

The administrator of a workgroup can deactivate this option via parameters in the Administration menu.

Documenting a service

Documentation of geographic services is automated and dynamic: see dedicated section.

Why

In Isogeo, the aim is to document only once, in order to be able to add value X times. A resource can be a map, a map library, a map server, an external visualization service, a download server, etc.

The aim of these resource sheets is to centralize the associated resources and to be able to associate them with different data sheets. For example, a map exported in PDF format will concern several data sheets. It is then documented only once, and linked to the data sheets concerned.

How to

  1. Click on the Create button in the top left-hand corner;
  2. Select a resource card;
  3. In the Titlefield , enterthe type of resource and the territory concerned. For example: Serveur de visualisation des données du Département de Belfort;
  4. In the Resources tab, indicate the various links that can be associated.
