Publish on Opendatasoft¶
Description¶
Opendatasoft is the publisher of the eponymous software platform dedicated to open data, which also operates in SaaS mode.
Prerequisites¶
Isogeo¶
- have an Isogeo workgroup with the CSW module activated;
- have vector and raster data metadata shared with the CSW application (non-geographic tabular data are not supported by CSW) ;
- publicly accessible WFS services, associated with vector metadata and shared with the CSW application to automate data retrieval by Opendatasoft (validated compatibility with ArcGIS Server and Geoserver WFS services).
Opendatasoft¶
- have an Opendatasoft organization with :
- cSW harvester activated;
- dCAT and INSPIRE metadata ;
- configuration in the back office :
Corresponding fields¶
The following fields are harvested by Opendatasoft:
Champ Isogeo | Opendatasoft field | Remarks |
---|---|---|
Title | Title | |
Summary | Description | without markdown interpretation |
Keywords | Keywords | |
Inspire themes | Themes | retrieved by indicating the GEMET thesaurus - INSPIRE themes, version 1.0 and the correspondence with ODS themes |
License | License | retrieved by indicating correspondence with ODS licenses |
Contact | Contacts (INSPIRE) | recovered role and email |
Owner | Producer | |
Right of way | Latitudes/longitudes | West Longitude, East Longitude, South Latitude, North Latitude of the bounding box in WGS 84 |
NB
The working group's themes are not reported by the CSW harvester, as they do not correspond to an official ISO thesaurus.
Overall process¶
Here are the main steps:
- Create an Isogeo share to the CSW application and retrieve the URL of the CSW service;
- Add a CSW harvester to Back Office Opendatasoft.
Creating a CSW service in Isogeo¶
This step is the same as that described in the section: Enhance: broadcast in CSW.
If several catalogs are shared, we recommend you use the procedure described above to obtain a single URL for all the catalogs: one service, several catalogs.
At the end of this step, you have a URL (known as GetCapabilities) for the CSW service of the type: https://services.api.isogeo.com/ows/s/8d491301f61249139918e3710cd39eb7/c/355b870869204c39b0fb9deb44469f2a/wak8OBU2hQX6F6rtIe3fWiRCvzFH0?service=CSW&version=2.0.2&request=GetCapabilities
Harvesting the CSW service in Opendatasoft¶
The official Opendatasoft documentation serves as a reference, and this paragraph is only intended to provide guidance for the Isogeo administrator.
- In the
Back Office
, go to harvester management (a url like: https://monorganisation.opendatasoft.com/backoffice/catalog/harvesters/) and click on the+ Add a harvester
button; - Create a harvester by selecting the
CSW
type:
- In the form, name the harvester, then paste the URL of the CSW service generated in the previous step;
- Indicate the exact names of the Isogeo licenses and how they correspond to the ODS licenses
(ETALAB 2.0
andODbL 1.0 - Open Database Licence
in general); - Do the same with Inspire themes by adding the
GEMET
thesaurus- INSPIRE themes, version 1.0
;
- Click on
Previewand then
onSave
; - Go to harvester management to start harvesting the Isogeo CSW.
Optional¶
It is possible to :
- delete datasets from the ODS Portal automatically if the source dataset is removed from the harvest;
- restrict the visibility of newly harvested datasets ;
- overload metadata to ensure traceability :
- schedule harvesting: see Opendatasoft documentation for recurring processing parameters.
