Cataloguing: a prerequisite for sharing¶
This step is essential for sharing and promoting your data assets. It allows you to organize your metadata records in different catalogs, such as :
- a catalog for internal use;
- a catalog for partners;
- and a catalog for the general public.
A metadata record can belong to several catalogs.
Isogeo's sophisticated catalog management enables you to control the distribution of your data according to your target audience.
Add value to your data: share and distribute your catalogs¶
The final step in this process is to promote your catalogs to your users. Isogeo's comprehensive rights management enables you to distribute your data catalogs :
- In-house.
- External:
- with your Isogeo partners;
- in your own media (intranet, extranet, internet) ;
- within your Geographic Data Infrastructure, via a standardized CSW 2.0 web service;
- In other software interfaces via our REST API.
This means that all your users - internal and external - have access to a catalog of data, and to the search, consultation and download services available to them.
If Isogeo places metadata at the heart of an innovative business process, it does so within a more global framework of territorial governance of geographic data. Producers, users and administrators all play their part in the collective enrichment and enhancement of mastered geographic data.
