Windows service hosting server

To use le Scan, you need to install a Windows service called Isogeo Worker on a machine (virtual or physical) in your organization that meets the requirements below.

Operating system

Although it is possible to install the Isogeo service on a user workstation, it is strongly recommended to use a server, for reasons of performance, access and availability.

Supported Windows versions are (those in bold are recommended) :

  • Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025;
  • Windows 11.

With regard to sizing, we recommend :

  • CPU 4 cores/vCPUs
  • 16 GB RAM memory
  • 100 GB disk space

Windows account

The Windows Isogeo Worker service (whose installation is described here) will be configured to be launched by this account. This can be a local account, but we recommend using a standard domain account. It must have the following rights:

  • "Log On as a service,
  • full control" access to the Windows Isogeo Worker service installation directory,
  • read and write access to the %PROGRAMDATA%\Isogeo\tmp directory,
  • run FME Form (and possibly ArcGIS Pro),
  • access to geographic data sources (see this dedicated section).

A little clarification...

This is the user who will be configured to run the Windows Isogeo Worker service. This is not necessarily the user who will be used to install the service. This user must be a local administrator.

Security constraints on the server

The execution of a binary embedded in the Isogeo service must be authorized on the server. It is described here and is located in the service installation directory.

Any security solution (antivirus, EDR, behavioral protection, etc.) that may block the execution of applications must be configured to authorize this program.

Info

For further details on its location, please contact the Isogeo staff directly.
